Title: Constructive things to do with spare time?
Post by: Caparino on July 02, 2012, 04:48 am
So long-story-short, I've lost my drivers license for a couple of months.

I've nothing to do besides work, have the constant disturbance of family members so that kicks reading books out of the window, and dicks on dicks on dicks on cats. I'm so infuriated that I can't even think straight. Help me reach clarity brothers   :(

Start a motorbike project. Buy and old shit heap and turn it into something you can ride when you get your licence back.
Gym?
More drugs.

1: Hit the gym, get your diet in check. Bulk/cut depending on your body. Nothing beats looking good and high self esteem

2: Search out small personal business ventures. Do what you want to do and make money with it.

3: Drugs? But don't delve into massive binges of copious amounts of drugs. Becoming a human vacuum cleaner isn't good. Use the money you save on gas to get new things to experiment with.

Masturbate until your palms bleed. 8)

@Gary: Masturbation just doesn't do it for me anymore :/

@Noose: That actually seems like a viable option atm

@Snipe: I already frequent the gym, could go more often though that's for sure. Might just do the business part.

@Zero: Gonna look up local junkyards and craigslist, thanks mate!

I second the motion of going to the gym and eating clean and looking good.  Nothing feels better than walking in a mall or store knowing chics are looking at you.

Video Games

Pick your self out an instrument to learn.   Like guitar or keyboard. Pick 2 of your favorite guitar solos or  intros and   try and learn them.

If you  believe in a god pray for  others first and then for your self and give thanks for all you have even if it sucks at the moment it could be worse.  my current living situation sucks too.

and  god yes  keep your drug habit in check my friend. Take it from someone  who has been there. It will sneak up on you and steal your soul and all you  have  if you are not careful. Opiates especially.  Well for some.  Some people have control  others like my self have a very addictive personality. So when it gets to where you are pawning your warez and waking up every day  wondering when and where you will get your not fix. well thanks to SR the where part is  alleviated but you get  my drift  then that is the start  of the downhill slide.

Find an interest and educate yourself on it.  Improving the mind as well as the body is  a good thing  cause the mind can get sick same as the body can if you do not take care of it.

Want my real opinion? Buy a cookbook and invite a girl over, try making something new together every night until you've gone through the entire book. Buy a mountain bike and explore nearby trails. Buy some pre-2000 Lego's and go crazy with them! Buy the board game Balderdash and invite some close friends over to play it while tripping. Learn how to play in instrument. Take some online classes and learn something you've always been curious about. Better yet go to the park and drink with homeless people, you can learn a lot that way and they'll appreciate it. ;D

No worries. I will tell you from experience there are endless hours of trying to fit parts together that will sometimes fit, sometimes not, but when you finish you will get the feeling you only get when you build something/fix something with your own hands.

Awesome post. I have never heard that, "walking is great, some would say its boring, but I like,"
That is fucking classic. I am going walking today.

- learn another language (can be an actual spoken language like Spanish or French, a constructed language like Esperanto (that one is easy and fun to learn) or a computer programming language like C )
- work out (or a sport like swimming, running, etc)
- find a hobby (gardening, lock picking, (ice) skating, cooking, electronics, building models, collecting things)
- travel around using other means (bike, bus, train etc if possible in your area)

NOPE! Nor have I practiced drawing/painting since I was a wee little lad, so my current artwork looks akin to that of a 10 year old

They're too trollish in their nature, I'd rather not waste my time on them  ;)

For some reason though, I really miss MisterDank. He was one of the factors of the forums that tied together the rest of the members. He needs to stop taking it in every one of his orifices and start posting his tweaked out conspiracies again!

Sorry to hear, Caparino.
I'd suggest finding a hobby to occupy your time with.
Video games are okay, but there's no actual reward. I like the suggestion of a motorbike project, learning an instrument, or learning a new language. I'm currently working on my french, it's definitely tougher than I remember, but it's fun.

Nothing against video games or gamers here, but please, throw that option out the window.  You said in the title you'd like something constructive to do with your spare time.  Gaming is just lost time in my opinion,  and i spent thousands of hours playing them from age 7 up until college.  There are plenty of positive things to say about gaming, but don't start playing call of duty for the next few months, its summer (in the northern hemisphere) for goodness sake! get outside!

I like the idea of fixing up a motorcycle that someone else suggested.

Unfortunately the only things i have to add would be learning another language, or learning to play an instrument.  With the environment you described it might prove difficult to pull off either of those.

I win money in tournaments all the time so I fail to see how it's a complete loss of time. Drugs & Video Games just go hand in hand sometimes. ;D Not to mention the prizes are pretty badass sometimes, I won my 60" 3D TV thanks to video games.

take some shrooms, go for a long walk, come home and cook some dinner. make some music, any kind of art. lie down in a field, watching the stars. go on a picnic with someone. talk to someone you haven't spoken to in a long time. roll your face off and dance like an idiot. learn rock climbing. study a martial art.
